If you are vacationing in Las Vegas and want to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the strip, then hop in a rented car and enjoy an excursion to the Las Vegas Zoo.  Due to the amount of casinos, nightlife, and entertainment options, you won’t hear a great deal about the zoo.  It’s funding solely relies on donations yet your donation will be much cheaper than even part of the day spent on the strip.

The zoo in and of itself is small but very clean. The animals are extremely healthy and active. They range from farm animals like chickens to lions and tigers. There is an amazing reptile house with a large assortment of lizards and snakes and even a petting zoo for children of all age!

The zoo contains over 150 different species of plants and animals. It is the only zoo in Las Vegas and the only zoo that is open all year in the state of Nevada. A visit to the zoo is both educational and entertaining and will be one that you won’t disappoint.

It is a shame that the zoo is not more publicized. It is easy to take a day, rent a vehicle, and enjoy the peaceful workings of the zoo while enjoying a day away from the strip that can sometimes become tiresome. In this way, you will be allowing yourself a day to rejuvenate yourself. A zoo trip is a perfect trip to take in the middle of your Vegas stay.
